About

My blog is my attempt to deconstruct gender roles, female-specific, in popular culture. As a pop culture consumer, I will use this blog to discuss how socially constructed gender roles impact my daily life and the collective impact on society. Hopefully, this blog will encourage understanding of feminism and feminist theory, while eliminating the stigma of what it means to be a feminist. I am in no way an expert on the topic, I am simply highlighting my experience navigating the treacherous world of popular culture.

I am an undergraduate at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, majoring in journalism and screen studies.  This blog was assigned as a student project for my online journalism course.
